This classic Viking 43 Double Cabin has been SERIOUSLY updated to current standards and is truly a one-of-a-kind vessel!!
In 2004-06 the owner COMPLETELY REBUILT this vessel on its timeless, seaworthy 1980 Viking hull; resulting in a beautiful Northwest cruising vessel - from the famous Viking hull to the custom-designed fully enclosed upper navigation station, featuring 360 degree visibility and complete current electronics for comfortable and safe cruising in all weather conditions.
This rebuild was so extensive (over 90% of the boat was modernized) that the United States Coast Guard documentation, insurance documentation and a post-rebuild survey all substantiate that this is officially no longer considered a 1980 vessel! As a result, she’s essentially a one-owner vessel, with contemporary engines, equipment, features and furnishings (and all the paperwork to prove it).
Here's a snapshot of the extensive transformation:
- The Viking Factory consulted in the repower with twin Yanmar 440hp diesel engines (only 786 hours) along with the complete redesign of the engine compartment
- Replacement of all ancillary systems including transmissions, drive train, tankage, exhausts, instrumentation and sound proofing
- Updated and redesigned electrical system (up to ABYC code, with complete, certified wiring diagrams) with usage digitally monitored in the main cabin
- Updated and redesigned interior to maximize livability and to bring to more modern standards (such LED lighting and corian countertops)
- Custom designed upper navigation station on Flybridge with hardtop and enclosure with 360* visibility, new seating and a complete, current electronic bridge
- Custom designed Aft Sundeck with a hardtop and full enclosure made of clear poly-carbonate panels (easy to remove)
- Custom extended swim platform
- Extensive records and documentation of the entire upgrade of the boat comes with the vessel
